[Illustrating Architecture]

Exploring the Art of the Built Environment

Model Gallery

Before a building is constructed, its architectural qualites will be illustrated in many ways. Our current project showcase highlights some of the many scale model types employed in the conceptualization, planning, and presentation of architecture.

Computer-Aided Design

Computer modeling allows for real-time virtual spacial experiences, presentation render generation, and basis for scaled models.

Process

Process models are quickly assembled sketch models may incorporate various materials sharing inspiration and design intent in a rapid format.

Tectonic/Structural

Tectonic, or structral models, help exploration the structural techniques and materials which take concepts towards realization.

Topographic

Built-up site models are derived from topographic maps or reimagined site plans allowing for the study of slope and setting.

Daylighting/Interior

Interior daylighting models show the intake of daylight and impact on furnishings and fixtures at various times of day and year.

Exterior

Detailed model of design concept to explore exterior, massing and design language. May be combined with a topographic site model for context.
